Audio Solutions Question of the Week: How Do I Navigate the ATDM-0604 Web Remote Software?

Question: How do I navigate the ATDM-0604 Web Remote software?

Answer: The ATDM-0604 Digital SmartMixer® software is accessible via any standard internet browser on the same network. While setting up the mixer for the first time, you may use the Audio-Technica Locate application, which is available for free download from the Audio-Technica website. With your computer and the mixer on the same subnet, the Locate application will show the IP address of the mixer and provide a link to open the Web Remote in your default web browser. You may also connect the computer directly to the mixer with a standard Cat5 cable. For Locate to find the connected mixer, you may need to adjust the Network and Sharing settings on your computer, including enabling Network Discovery.

The first screen of Web Remote is the login screen. When logging in for the first time and for setting up the mixer, you will need to log in to the Administrator page. Once the mixer has been properly configured, you may log in to the Operator page. This page gives you access to basic operational functions such as volume and mute adjustments, which are all assignable and customizable in the setup.

The Mixer View is like any standard mixer and includes:

Input

  • Gain
  • Level
  • EQ
  • SmartMixer Settings
  • Channel Bus Assignment

Output

  • Level
  • EQ
  • FBS (Feedback Suppressor)
  • Dynamics

What sets the ATDM-0604 apart from other mixers is its AEC (Acoustic Echo Canceler) processing – the “secret sauce” that provides clear audio when using a soft codec such as Skype, Zoom or Google Hangouts. To adjust the AEC settings, select AEC on the right side of the screen to access the AEC settings pop-out window. (Figure 5.2)  Additionally, for the Smart Mix settings, select Smart Mix on the right side of the screen. (Figure 5.1)
