Business Development Manager – Live Sound, UK North

Role

As part of the commercial sales team, the successful candidate will develop and increase business by working with clients, direct trade accounts as well as sales leads and opportunities to promote and influence Integrated Audio Solutions.   
 
With a commercial focus, they will find, contact, and build business relationships with prospect businesses & clients, as well as creating and providing technical sales presentations for commercial customers across the north of the United Kingdom.  

Key Responsibilities:-

  • To ensure achievement of all sales budgets at agreed levels of profitability for the area of responsibility. 
  • Visit customers to influence them to specify our product portfolio with training and support aligning to the customer's requirements. 
  • Find, research and contact new prospect business, developing new relationships in line with the business development goals. 
  • Proactively plan and implement visits to existing customers to maintain and increase awareness of the Company’s represented product ranges and to gain understanding of competitor activity within the market. 
  • Provide system designs for commercial applications to rental companies, venues, consultants and other commercial accounts across the UK Northern Region. 
  • Contact and influence consultants and businesses working in education, corporate, house of worship, theatre and other appropriate markets related to live sound solutions. 
  • Develop and provide sales presentations and facilitate product demonstrations for the installation, consultant and other relevant clients.   In conjunction with technical sales management deploy training and seminar programmes for selected accounts. 
  • Build up sales leads and opportunities on a sales pipeline, create quotations to facilitate estimated revenues. 
  • Provide regular management reports on sales, customer and competitor activity within the region both quarterly and on demand as required. 
  • Attend trade shows, exhibitions and online events as requested as part of the team guiding customers to maximise sales opportunities and increase confidence in the brands and products. 
  • Maintain an active presence within social media channels and groups to grow your influence. 
  • Work with the marketing team on case studies providing them with all required information and/or the appropriate contacts.  
  • Be responsible for the management and security of all loan stock in line with policy. 
  • To undertake all administrative tasks in support of sales to meet business requirements. 
  • Undertake any training or development required to ensure up to date product knowledge. 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:- 

Essential

  • 3 years commercial sales experience.   
  • Experience in communicating directly with rental houses, integrators and consultants. 
  • Professional Audio Experience and/or a degree in Music Technology. 
  • Excellent communicator with a high level of interpersonal skills. 
  • High level analytical & problem-solving skills.
  • Organised & methodical with excellent attention to detail. 
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work as part of a team. 
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and work to meet deadlines.  
  • Use of Microsoft office suite or similar production software for reports and presentations. 
  • Use of CRM and pipeline management. 
  • A full clean driving licence. 

Desirable

  • A well networked individual.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of digital audio and audio networking technologies.  

  • Experience in designing audio systems. 

  • Experience of training technical information.
